First Run of Cornish Cross Meat Birds and Super Excited!

Already talked that over with the preggo.. All she had to ask was if she turned into a zombie could I kill her... "Without a hesitation" I said and then was smacked lol but I then told her I'd hope she do the same if it was me
Daskhan, I just have to ask and forgive me if I just missed it, but who is preggo? Is it your girlfriend? Wife? Friend?

I'm new to this thread and was wondering what it takes to make a frog??
Welcome! A frog is a term we use on this thread for the offspring of two Cornish Cross as there is no other term for it and some people try to argue with us if we call them Cornish Cross, as Ralph

Hello
Can you share where you purchased your broilers from?
Welcome to you as well! Where are you located? It is difficult to recommend a hatchery for you until we know where you live. Many are great and the closest to you is probably best!

So, I have a question for you all. I have a bully amongst my chicks right now. One of my EE chicks is grabbing ahold of any chick that goes by her and causing her to scream! She isn't drawing blood on any of them. She is just grabbing ahold of neck feathers and causing the others to scream. She is a light colored EE but there is some rust color showing up on her wings. Am I dealing with a roo coming into his own maybe and bullying anyone in sight? Would HE do that to a bunch of girls. Shall I get a pic of her/he???

Jessica is it more than just forcing his way to top chicken spot?

If he is not hurting them I would do nothing, if it really bothers you, I suggest you have home raised Cornish game hen, without the Cornish part.

I was going to post a picture here and put it on another thread instead. a senior moment, they happen a lot. I have a turkey that is under the weather. The other tom turkeys are picking on him because he is sick, he appeared to be starting to act depressed, besides sick. I took him out of the flock and moved him to the area my CX's free range. I set him by my fancy homemade waterer and he stayed there all day. He ate a little and walked a little, When we had Chicken TV time we went and sat by him. He saw us, stared at us and sat down. kind of drifting in an out of sleep.

This one CX walked over to him and looked up at him, then snuggled in and sat next to him staring at the turkey. It was sweet. here the turkey and CX are just gazing into each others eyes. My DW had her IPhone and got a picture. poor quality but still cute.

Is that a 55 gallon chicken watered???

That is a 30 gallon waterer.

What I did is cut the bottom off a 55 gallon drum. About 4 inches of it.

Then I put a 35 gallon drum inside the 55 gallon drum bottom I cut off.

Then I measured the level the drum bottom comes to on the 35 gallon drum. I then drilled a small hole about an inch below that level.

I put Teflon plumbers tape on the threads of the bung, and screw them tight so no air leaks. As the chicks drink it down the water trickles out.

You know how much water CX's use. This cheap homemade waterer replaces 6 store bought ones.

I have some 55 gallon ones but those I made using "watering cups" BUT NOT BEAKTIME!! They leak and stop working I use the more expensive ones with a spring in them.
