NEVER take this picture down please. The next time my wife tells me to dress decent or no one else dresses like that I am going to show her this picture!!!!

That is my husband but he doesn't generally wear sandals. He does landscape maintenance for a living and light, comfy clothes are key. He loves that Walmart sells his wardrobe of choice for less than $5. But he can destroy a shirt in 2 seconds flat so, it works.

It's funny that you say that is a lot of chickens...well it is, but most of them are still all inside the brooder house. You can't even imagine from the pic how many there are. Chickens are so funny with their personalities. You see it even more when you have 300 (306 and a little rooster chick, darn it!) Anyway some of them are so brave and run up to you like they are going to get you. Those ones like to be petted. Then there are the others that run mob style away from you and freak if you touch them as if it was the first time they ever saw you. Crazy chicks!

I think your post disturbed me because of the way she was going to go about it. I would have been like you and thought what a weird way to transport and I wouldn't want to be her when she gets home. But you are right, different cultures do things differently.

I did not know there was any other place to shop for clothes...

BTW As you can imagine my DW and I have discussions often over my chosen fashions..

She gets really upset when I but my shoes.. Walmart sells a good pair for 12 bucks why would anyone pay more?

Even with my pitifully small amount of chickens I can see the different personalities. Some run to me, some run away, some are indifferent.

My redneck nests work . Ethel laid an egg in it, I saw her in the nest doing her duty, so I know one of the eggs you get is hers..


Looking at the eggs two of them are hers. There another hen in one of the nest now. If this keeps you will have real eggs before the weekend!!!

I sure hope they are all good and mail okay!






PS... I went and checked eggs again. I got 4 turkey eggs today! that's from 4 hens..

I have 30 Chicken hens not counting creamettes I got 29 eggs from them, and took the broody one out of the nest box and gave her 10 eggs in the ICU, she will either accept them or break her broodiness. I am crossing my finger she will take them. There is no way I could let her sit in a nest box and try to hatch them, I had to move her.

6 days, 1 week and 2 weeks r my special days!! Eggs hatch on each of those days!!! I am hoping I get more broodies have 3 now so that's not that bad. BUT I WANT MORE!

Holm I am a long ways from my birds in Duluth performing Grandpa daycare duties. But I think it is an EE that went broody but I am not sure how broody. She clucked all the way to the new "nest" when I carried her. I gave her 10 eggs before I moved her I might have done that wrong.

I should have used fake eggs to see if she would take them. Oh Well. When I was carrying her I was thinking she is pretty small to sit on 10 eggs.

If she has not taken the eggs by tonight I will bring the eggs back into the house. With the temps outside they will be fine.

I left before dark so I do not know if she found the nest.

I imagine she will take them. I know I got sick of waiting to move broody bantam so I put her in a small puppy carrier and locked her in there till she took the eggs and she has been sitting ever since.

I have so many eggs set!! Out of 130 eggs set, how many do you all think I can hatch?

My last hatch rate for 130 eggs was 29 live chicks hatched, 3 culled.

Of course one of my crow reduced white bresse cocks is injured that I am trying to sell. I have the crowing contest inside my house now, the neighbors asked me nicely, and refused my bribe of eggs last week.

I am going coocoo for coco puffs.

To try to get rid of my remaining crow reduced ayam cemani rooster my friend offered up for donation 6 straight run ayam cemani chicks from our gff roo over gff and bean line ayam cemani to get him gone. To bring peace back to my neighbors. I hope someone buys him. I can't kill him, I have just far too much invested in him and he's an EXCELLENT FLOCK PROTECTOR. As well as being a lap chicken. I hadn't thought I was hand raising them too closely, but possibly that happened.

Yesterday I moved the 10 cx meaties to their own brooder box off heat in the barn. They are such piggies. The other 15 chicks thanked me.

And we moved the duck hutch, but even with 4 female ducks my 2 drakes are not getting along. I might have to move a pair again. Such a pain.

My bf said something about installing poop boards in my coops, but idk about it really happening. I have 20 laying chickens, 8 adult ducks with 2 known and a 3rd suspected drake. 10 cx. 15 chicks, 130 eggs set and 2 turkey poults on order along with 12 ducklings and a pair of svart honas and ayam cemani at my friends house from gff i need to start to think about bringing over to mi casa. #chickenmath
