Trixie is the most inquisitive of the lot

I read that if u cross a dark cornish with different Large breeds they will grow 2xs as fast as a pure bred bird would. Ralph the all knowing is this true?? Lol jk I should ask Minnie the corrector. She has helped me alot.

I know my toads are growing twice as fast and large as the Dixie rainbows did. BUT they are not growing twice as fast as Bert did.

I hate to ever disagree with JR for fear of waking up dead some morning, but I do not think breeding two different "breeds" (and I use that word lightly) of chicken will give you true hybrid vigor. Now crossing and Alligator with a Caiman just might.

I like sitting out in the pen talking to all of themthis is lady goose, she likes to get up close and personal

This is a picture of a face only a Mother ...would love ...

I got the new pen for the meaties done yesterday! I cant free-range them, but I was able to give them about a quarter of an acre. It took me 3 days to build it and moved them in yesterday. They love it! There were a couple huge logs in the fenced area that I couldnt move so I left em thinking theyd be good for finding bugs under. The chicks are hopping allover the place, jumping up on the logs, scratching, etc. Ive never seen these kind of chicks be so active! Best of all, I went to refill the feed trough this morning. It wasnt completely empty like it had been prior to the new pen. And when I did put a little more in it, only 3 chicks came to attack it out of 28! They are only about 3 weeks old, but hopefully they stay this active with more room to move :)
