Mine don't stink but their poo does.
They also get moved to freash grass every 24hrs during the week on the weekend they get moved twice a day. They only free range 1hr a day except for the weekend then it's for how er I'm our in the yard.

There is no doubt moving them a lot is important. They can eat a tractor bare in hours.

I feed them fermented feed and that really helps with the stinky poo.

nope..in this thread we feed them much less... so they are healthier. Mine run and chase bugs and can fly/hop up to my lap

I consider this to be a guide to sickly, under exercised, chicks that will die of heart disease, kidney disease and have ascites before processing...

From what I've read it's necessary with roosters unless you want shoe leather I've never butchered and just stuck in the frige/freezer tho. Also thought you had to keep chix in the frige 2-3 days for the meat to relax. Mind you, these roosters are from my layer flock.

You do have to let them relax, unless you freeze them, the freezing and thawing will cause them to relax too...

Unless the rooster is a year or more old, I see no reason to brine. If they are really that tough pressure cook them. that softens anything. We eat our layer flock roosters at around 20-26 weeks and they are not tough.
