First Run of Cornish Cross Meat Birds and Super Excited!

If a traditional Cornish Cross is made from a White Cornish rooster on a White Plymouth Rock, what would happen if you put a Dark Cornish rooster on a Black Rock hybrid. A color negative Cornish Cross?!

I wish making a CX was that easy..Unless you are good and into corporate espionage we will never know for sure what they are. I would not put it past them to not even have cornish in them...just to throw us off the trail.

I know it's very complex, but we do know that somewhere in the bloodline we have a Cornish breed and a rock breed. But there's a lot of different chickens, Malay, Asil, Old English Game, White Rocks, and maybye even more. My homemade Cornish Cross would use Hmoob Rooster over a White Cornish, and the offspring crossed with a White Rock. You can add/replace to achieve a rustic bird however. This is obviously not industrial, just my homemade cross.

That quote was for Ralph. I tend to agree Ralph. I don't believe we have accurate information on the so called "terminal cross" and I don't think we have been given the correct breeds involved either.

We have periods of blazing heat where you walk around and start to sweat. Then out of the blue, it rains for like a week! We also had a good winter(if you like lots of snow) So we have snow melt still coming down from the mountains, so we are high and wet!
