I have a flock of 8 various chickens. My only rooster about one month ago started loosing feathers on his back near his tail, some were plucked completely out other were broken off, I thought the hens were to blame. Today he has very redden, inflamed looking legs and toes. I wouldn't say they are scaly, checked for mites and don't see any. However I am not real sure what I am looking for. Hens appear fine, and coop seems to be in normal condition. This is my first flock and I am puzzled by this. Please help with any suggestions?
