First Silkie Hatch-a-long!

So exciting!
I usually see movement as well when I put the eggs in lockdown.
I have been hatching chicks for a few years now and I swear by the shelf liner. See photo below. You can buy it in a role and it is easily cut to size. I also have an NR 360 and a Brinsea. I have 5 Silkie eggs on DAY 18.View attachment 2981725

I’ve got the roll of shelf liner right next to the incubator. It will be going in tomorrow

Day 17 and I just checked all eggs. I’ve got movement in 12 of 12 eggs. Lock down tomorrow

i candled my egg thats due tuesday. I saw movement!!!! so happy

Your eggs are at day 19 right? Might still be OK to stick it back in the incubator and see what it does. Largest part of the air cell up. When you candle it does it still seem to be alive?
Is it oozing blood or any liquid?

Day 18. It doesn’t seem to have broken the membrane. I don’t see any oozing. I’ve put it back for now.

The instruction for the incubator say to open the air vent all the way at day 18, but then the humidity drops down to under 50. Should I close it some? The incubator has a fan.

Don't close the air vent holes. These should stay open from lockdown until the hatch is complete. You may need to add more water because at this point humidity should be between 60-65%.
