First Time Chick Parents, Spring 2016

My silkie babies came yesterday! sadly two came dead and one I've been working very hard to keep her. Hubby told me I could go to rural King and get a few to supplement the loss. So I got some silver laced wyannadottes and one golden laced. Brooder is split in half to keep them seperate

Any suggestions how to integrate them? The silkies are only a few days old the wyannadottes however are old enough to start getting wing feathers. Two of the silkies are still kind of fragile so I was going to wait a couple days

Thank you Jen. Yea I gave them all electrolytes only twice before. So today is the first time I added it to the water, and only because of little Goldie getting ill. My cousin is going to grab some Corid tomorrow morning and bring it out to me around lunchtime. Hopefully it'll help...

I just checked on her, and she was up and eating. So thats a good sign.
Yes I agree with the possible vitamin def. I would pick up or have your friend pick up some baby vitamins called polivisol with no iron. I used it on my rooster that was attacked by a bobcat. He would not eat or drink and after giving him a dose or two of that after 6 days he was fine.
Give it a try.

Chicks will sleep every which way and often, like most babies. They will give you minor heart attacks because they look like dead chicks until you notice that they're breathing.

I had one that was particularly good at fooling me. He'd sleep with his head flopped over things......the feeder, a block of wood, etc. Always scared me thinking he got trampled.....but he'd pop up and glare at me when I'd reach in to check.
