First time chicken owner.

Hey guys, I just got my first chickens. They are almost 3 weeks old now. 4 black australorps, 5 sex linked pullets, and 1 mystery bantam. Thanks for all the info on this website.

So I have a odd problem with my eggs. I have two red hens that have been laying medium sized brown eggs for the last 7months. Suddenly one reds eggs got very large and practically white. Hope its not sick no one I know has seen it before.

Welcome to BYC. Glad you decided join our flock. Black Australorps are my favorite standard breed. I've raised them for years (along with dozens of other breeds), and they are extremely hardy, calm and gentle (my children and granddaughter made lap pets of them), and excellent layers of large brown eggs. And Red Sex Links are egg laying machines. You should get loads of eggs from your flock. ) Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can.
