Hey everyone! I rescued three chicks from UGA (the perks of being an avian biology major!): a polish, a Cochin, and a silkie. They are so sweet and almost 7 weeks old now. But I have a few questions.
The polish is very spazzy and he loves to perch. Any recommendations how to calm him down and good perches for him?
What are some good signs if they are hens or roos? I'm 90% positive the Cochin is a male since he already has a very red comb and wattle developing, but the others are so different from what I've worked with, that I just have no idea!!

from Alabama. Glad you joined us. I have Polish, and they can definitely have different personalities from other breeds. One reason being the crest on top of their head blocks a lot of their vision and sometimes trimming the crest can help. You might want to check out the Polish thread:
