From my experience the best way to get them to become friendly is just sit in the house or garden with them for an hour or so a day
don't try to pet them just let them walk around you and get used to you, it's also a good way to study their behavior and then you will be able to tell if somethings not right if they ever get ill (although I hope they wont!). Most breeds can be tamed some are just more work than others
