First Time Egg Candler Scared!

After this next chick hatches, I have 1 more tiny pippped egg. The first chick hatched at 4 this morning. Should I go ahead and take him out (after next one hatches)?

Hows your humidity holding up and how hard is it to keep up? If you open the lid, you risk dropping humidity which is more harm than getting that chick out. But if you don't have trouble keeping it up, and can get them out quickly, its a judgement call. They should be fine to stay in there until all eggs are done. (unless you have any dangers in there like open water bowls or exposed fan blades etc)

I will just leave him in there then. No water bowls just a paper towel and eggs. I will wait untill all eggs that are pipped are done.

Can you give me a link to chick music that is longer than 30secs?
I don't, but as mentioned a post was linked with it on a loop.

Taking chicks out is a personal decision, but should only be done with adequate humidity.

Second chick hatched, I now have a blue and a white silkie!
Yay!! Congrats!

Ok, so I figured out its the umbilical cord. It isnt attached to the baby it is just stuck in the hair. I am going to take the babies out when the second one is fairly dry. Should I take the umbilical cord out? Or just let it fall out?
