So, today is the day for full contact integration. The Littles are roughly 8 weeks and have been outside in their own area for the past two weeks with their food and water right next to The Oldies food and water, separated by some chicken wire that allowed them to poke their heads into the others side and investigate.
Wish me luck!

Ok.
So they all had 2 hours of play time together and all went fairly well. Funniest thing...
When I removed the divide, both sets of chickens stepped past each other, went about 2-3 feet into the others area, looked around, turned around, walked past each other again, went to their water and looked directly at the other pair and started to drink. So funny!!!

Only one minor pecking incident occurred when I threw a couple handfuls of fresh picked grass into the run. Other than that, all seemed well for a first time adventure.
Back to segregation until later today.
Slow and steady...

A little bit of a dust up with the afternoon play session. One of my Marans (Squidzilla) went after my Buff (Twinkie) and got a few nice (aggressive?) pecks in before I broke up the fracas.
Other than that, no problems.
The Littles are still sleeping in the new coop and The Oldies in the Old coop. I don't think I'll try for the FULL integration for little while yet...
