first time goose laying questions

my Toulouse laid daily, first clutch had 8 a week later second clutch had 9 a week later had 7 and died. She was a year old and bred by a cotton patch male.

Did you give your goose oyster shell for extra calcium with laying that many eggs? It is very important to replenish their calcium at laying time because they use up calcium from their bones to make the eggs. I give oyster shell and buy bags of shelled nut bird mixture and put some of that in their feed for extra calcium and my girls and even the ganders love the nuts!!!

They get oyster shells and chicken scratch as well. I have an all purpose electrolyte water soluble mix too but she doesn't seem to interested in that .
