First time hatch day 17

So sad.. My all 4 chicks found drowned die inside egg.... It may be because of high humidity during first 18 days....???? I am setting 10 news egg today.

Try keeping the humidity down to 50 -55 for days 1 - 17 and then up to 60-65 on day 18 to hatching. I just did it and hatched out 10 Phoenix's, out of 12. Good Luck on your next hatching, hope all works well this time... It's all a learning experience and soon you will get it down and be hatching all the time. Try and not get too discouraged... Sorry about your lost.....

I haven't hatched that many batches but after reading many posts here and asking an expert I went with dry incubation

I aimed for my humidity to be 30% for the first 18 days and 70% at the end.

I figured if my hygrometers were off by up to 10% for 1-18 I would be safe. I only added water if I fell between 20-25%

Lockdown I tried 70% it was a little struggle to keep it up until they started hatching. I knew if i started seeing fog or water on the windows it was over 70%

I have tried the dry method but I was not very successful, so it will be intersting to see how you do. Good luck I really do hope it all works out for you. Once you find the best way, you will have so much fun and believe me you'll want to try again and again.. LOL...

Aw, I'm sorry for your loss. It's definitely a learning experience. Try again, and you'll figure out what works best for you. Different people have better hatches using different methods. There are lots of factors, local climate, type of incubator, genetics of the parent chickens, etc. I still haven't found the perfect formula for my hatches. Some are great, some are really not great. But don't give up. It's so rewarding when you get those little fuzzy butts.

I agree with BroosterSpringsteen...my first try at hatching was with 3 eggs, I broke one by accident, second got handled too much and got bacteria inside and chick died, third one chick drowned inside as well...it was heartbreaking but after that my second try had 19 eggs, 18 hatched and the other one...lets say it was an accident.
I am sorry for your loss but please don't give up!
