Okay, I started with 19 Cochin eggs...3 were obviously not fertile when I first candled. The rest were doing fine until last week...I don't know what happened, 11 out of the remaining 16 had died. They had all had vessels and embryos. So I am down to 5. When I candled right before lockdown, all looked like they were good, and one was hard to tell (darker shell). Here we are at day 21 and I don't think I have any pips...they don't ever pip on the bottom do they? I swear I thought I saw one or two of them wiggle, but it could just be my eyes... I started the incubation in the evening of day 1, so could it be possible that they will be a little late? Or am I going to have no babies

I was soooo disappointed the day that I found 11 of them had not made it. I was really hoping I would at least get one...Tell me, I am being impatient and that there is still a chance...

Anyone else have any experience with this?

Each hatch is different. One hatch they wiggled all over the place but no noise. Another hatch they made noise but no wiggling. Sometimes they don't do anything. Sometimes they go untill day 25.

Wow...day 25?? Of course my first time hatching would end up taking longer than normal...I am sooo impatient lol...Thanks for the info

I put them in the evening of day 1...so does that mean that technically I am still on day 21? I guess I am just getting my hopes up, which I shouldn't...I am feeling pretty discouraged right now

What have your temperatures been like? If they were on the lower side then hatching will be delayed. Higher temps bring on a quicker hatch.

I am going to be sooooo upset if none of them hatch, especially since 2 days ago I am positive that most of them were alive...Ugh...I hate the waiting game. So, question...it is not a good idea to mess with them at all right now, is it? Like picking them up to candle them for veins? I am sure the answer will be no, lol...but I just thought I would check

Temp stayed around 100 degrees the entire time, except one day it got a little higher over night, but I fixed it the next morning. Could that have killed them? This change in temp was also before lockdown, so the ones that are in there now, were alive after the temp change.
