First Time Hatching Anyone With Me??

Oh my gosh..... I have a bloody pip!?! It seems to have piped in the middle of the egg? Has anyone ever heard of this? I am sooo worried!!

I am going to go search BYC for some info.

Probably just pipped through a vein. I'm sure it will be OK.

I did a little searching on the bloody pip too and that's what they said...leave it alone! I'm sure that's hard to do. I will be putting mine into lockdown this Sunday so I'll be going through all of this next week. Hope they all hatch and are all healthy chicks.

I now have 4 chicks hatched from the six eggs I got from my chickens. One of the remaining ones has a pip very low - like in the middle of the egg and the little beak is sticking out. I do not know if this means the chick is in the wrong position to zip or what. I am just leaving it alone for now, but it's been this way for about 15 hours now.

So far, none of the Marans eggs I bought on Ebay have pipped, but I am still hopeful since it's not really 21 days for another 3 hours. This really illustrates the difference between fresh eggs and shipped eggs. At this point, I would be happy to just get one (of course I am hoping for more). I will just have to wait and see.

I am concerned about the middle of the shell pip. I hate to have this chick die in the shell because it can't get out. Any advice on this one?

I also have a pip in the middle of the egg. Its been about 12 hours and still nothing from that chick.

3 more pips and one that has done nothing. Come on babies!!!

Super worried about the egg that piped in the middle and is bloody.
