First Time Hatching Anyone With Me??

Yay Baby!! I hear from others that it is just fine if the chick plays soccer with the eggs. I had mine in a carton, but I still caught a chick sitting on top of an egg while it was zipping

I kind of figure that the hatched chicks stimulate the others to come out. Get some sleep, they will be fine. And that means that you get to wake up to new baby chicks

How is Cinco doing?? Maybe heaving breathing from being so exhausted?

Did you get any of the vitamins/electrolyte packs? It might help the weak guy gain some strength.

he's still with us this morning

i do have some gro-gel plus that i'll put into the incubator with him

he's really going to need all the positive thoughts we can send this way.

We have 12 babies now!!!

Only 7 eggs to go! Some pipped last night and nothing since. I hope they come out OK!

They are all still in the incubator snuggling.

How do I post my pictures?

Dorking Chicks hatched this weekend! I have 22 total. 7 RIR w/out 5 toes, 6 Dorkings with 5 toes, 8 BSL (black sex links) with 5 toes, and one odd white/Ivory with faint stripes with 5 toes! My dorking roosters were bred with Black Sex Link hens, and next incubation project should produce red traits from the RIR.

any progress?

Hi there, Latebloomer!!! I put 23 eggs into lockdown yesterday afternoon. I'm using a Genesis 1588 for my hatcher and temp is holding very nicely. I filled both channels and humidity is holding around 64%. I've placed a sponge under the vent hole just in case I need to bump it up a little. I keep staring at them. LOL! I'll keep you posted.
How did your hatch turn out? And what bator were you using?
