After keeping coturnix for a while and successfully hatching their eggs in my DIY incubator, I decided to try with some bobwhite eggs next. I got 12 Northern and 12 Tuxedo/White eggs. Just put them into the incubator tonight.

Now I’m thinking, I have no idea what I will actually do with the bobwhites if I get that many chicks. I would like to keep maybe just 1 male and a few females. What does everyone else do with their bobwhites? Meat? Eggs? The hunting hobby is basically non existent in my area so I’m not sure who else would buy bobwhite over coturnix.

What area?
I hatched 15 Georgia Giant Bobwhites, they are approx 3 months and equal or slightly smaller than my mature coturnix. They still have a ot of growing to do and I can not yet determine sex.
I don't expect eggs until next spring, and they only lay for a short time. My experience so far is they are not ideal for meat nor eggs. The hatching eggs I got were much smaller than my coturnix eggs and obviously they take a looooong time to mature to butcher.
I will continue to raise them as they are neat birds and fun to watch. They are in no way anything like a coturnix.
I also have a local feed store that is interested in buying mature birds from me in the future.
