First time hatching chicks

We are at 12/21. This is so much fun.

Agree! I’m on day 7. This is supposed to be my last hatch of the spring and I’m sad to be done!

I think we are currently at 14 or 15 of 21. The little scrambler keep moving eggs around so I can't get an accurate count of the remaining eggs.

We are waiting for one to finish up and have 3 others that aren't doing anything at this time. Keeping my fingers

Even the dog is entranced with the chicks. She thinks they are hers to watch over.

Not sure how I missed this!!

I’m on day 20, 19 in lockdown, 4 have pipped and 2 have big chunks out but are taking foreeeeeever to unzip. They are chirping and shaking so I know they are alive in there…

How long can it take to unzip? My others went so fast once they started unzipping..

18/19 that went into lockdown hatched. Even the saddled airsac one that I had to assist! (Thanks again @Slothinc for your help). I’m so happy with how well this hatch went!

(Note this is not their home, they were just contained so I could get a pic of them all lol)

They are beautiful!!! Congratulations, you did amazing with the assist! Such a wonderful hatch rate

My marans babies @Island Coppers @wrathsfarm I think you guys keep marans if I remember correctly?? I think I’ve got two black and two blue here maybe?

The one blue one hatched leg first and I had to splint her leg, her face is dirty from her vitamin mixture I was giving her. She is all better now and running and jumping.
