First Time Hatching - incubator edition

I don’t know, there was the 6 that died around day 8. That makes it a 59.1% hatch rate out of the total eggs I started with ( 61.9% if you take out the one that wasn’t fertile to begin with ). Do you think my water had something to do with it? It was causing calcium deposits to form on the fill pots on the incubator and it stained the inside of pot A a brownish color. I should’ve used distilled ( I am for the next batch after this one )

Can't remember where you got the eggs.
Lots of aspects to hatching that can cause 'failure to develop/hatch'.
I always set 4 times the amount of pullets I want,
figuring 50% will hatch and 50% of hatched being males.

The eggs came from my own chickens. I did have problems with humidity at first, so I don’t know if that did anything? Hopefully it’s better the second time around. I don’t think I’m going to set them until the 26th.

Probably not.
Humidity is a long term thing rather than a today thing like temps can be.

Then it must’ve been something I did. I don’t think it has anything to do with the eggs. My broody had no trouble hatching out the eggs I gave to her from my other chickens.

It's really hard to say.......I don't expect 100% hatches, have only had 1-2 out of a dozen, then I'm not as disappointed.

I don’t know, I’m definitely disappointed. 9 not hatching out of 22....

Im going to give the two left until day 25, but I don’t know how high the chances are

13 chicks have hatched. The only eggs that remain are the two that haven’t pipped yet....

I did but they’re dark shelled and it’s hard to see into them. It didn’t look like they’ve internally pipped yet

I'll be honest, it looks like they quit around day 15ish. Did you sniff them? If they're not stinky you can continue to wait but I would definitely sniff because with the eggs only looking partially filled I'm thinking they quit a while ago.
