.So today is day 21 and my eggs were incubated in the evening, so far we have 2 chicks in the brooder and no signs of anything from the rest of the eggs at all, no pips through the shell or anything. Did I make a bunch of beginner mistakes and all I am going to end up with is 2 chicks or is it way too soon to say that since 21 days is just a guideline? Just curious what everyone thinks ;) Really happy to be a part of this site its awesome!

it's too soon to tell :)
on my first hatch, I had some hatch day 20, and some hatched as late as day 23. I was completely convinced that all 9 welsummer eggs were dead. when they started pipping day 23, I can't tell you how surprised I was! Day 25 is what is considered the "longest" you should wait.

If mine didn't pip by day 24-25, I would candle them, and if no internal pip, then I would float test them.

information on the float test can be found here:

you do NOT need to assist OR float test yet, but its always good to read ahead :)

I am on one week with me eggs, when candled my eggs one looks like it has weak veins compared to the others, but it is still moving in the egg so I put it back.
