First time hatching with an incubator help

Ok any good brooder ideas? I don't know if I should put the brooder outside or in I have a large tote I was going to use with a shop light

The brooder should be large enough to support all the chicks, so a large box, plastic tub, old bathtub, a shelf on its side, ect. It would be safest indoors, as temperatures do not fluctuate as much. Make sure they can get away from the heat but can also get to around 95 F during the first few days. Provide food and water a day after hatching. Good substrate/bedding is paper towels during the first few days, as it is easy to clean and provides good grip.

New chicks need to be in a draft free area regardless of the light. So as long as they are where drafts can't reach them and it's already warmed to between 95-100F on ONE end they should be ok.

I provide electrolyte enhanced water and starter crumbles for mine from the minute they go in the brooder. I don't believe in holding back food and especially water as chicks can become dehydrated during a hatch. If they don't want it/ need it, they won't utilize it. I also use course Pine bedding from day one.

I feed my baby birds as soon as I get them as well.
