First time having to cull a chick

I know I did the right thing, I put down a chick that just hatched a couple of hours ago. It hatched with half of its insides out. At first, I thought it just didn't absorb the yolk, but it turned out that there was a lot more than yolk hanging out there. Poor thing. I had 6 already hatch just fine from this batch, so I don't think it was anything I did. The good news is, I have 3 B/B/S Ameraucanas and 3 Buff Sebrights hatched. I have more to go (I hope they are not going to disappointment me). So, we will see tomorrow if anything else has progressed, otherwise the ones who are out will go to the brooder. I almost don't need a heat lamp it is so hot here!
All in all, a bittersweet hatching day.
