First time incubating goose eggs

Goose egg turner. What a joke. Really works well for duck eggs, is to small for goose eggs with 4 rails. It works fine, if you reduce it to 3 rails and no more then 3 eggs per rail. Have goose eggs in the incubator right now using the goose egg rails.

The turner is meant for use in a hovabator. The top of a hovabator is much taller than that of an LG. I think you have to get an adapter for the LG to use a goose egg turner, something that makes the top set up higher.

You'll just have to hand-turn them.

I have a Hovabator and I think if the eggs would fit laying down it would work. If I have to put them big end up won't they be too close to the top? I hatched a couple out with them on their sides hand turning but thought it would be easier with a turner.

I just took 2 rows out of my auto turner to accomodate 2 Sebbie goose eggs in the LG still air incubator. (I put 2 other Sebbie goose eggs under my silkies!

Haha, go silkies!

I have another silky trying to go broody. Was gonna give her some standard hen eggs. Hmmmmm ....

Somehow I don't think she'd do a great job raising a gosling though. Poor girl, I bet the geese would steal the baby. I'd love to see silkies on a goose egg though.

Thanks for all the info. I got 18 eggs today. Some are older, but im still gonna try them.. Im also getting more later this week.... My call duck eggs should be hatched by the time they get here, so they can go in that incubator..

I realized that if im gonna keep on doing this.. incubating duck and goose eggs.. im gonna have to have my hubby make me a bigger incubator..but, darn its fun...

Maybe that's what I need to do -- build an incubator. I've been thinking of it. Looks like the one I was supposed to borrow may have fallen through, and I can't buy one right now, but I sure do need one!

Good luck with all your eggs!
