First time incubating goose eggs

My husband is realy handy at building all sorts of things and Ive got the perfect container for the incubator.. its sorta like a cooler for your car that can be either hot or cold.. so its well insulated.. I just need him to add the proper heating element and fan and it will probably be perfect...

The downfall is that my hubby is a long haul truck driver and when he comes home, I have all these "honey do" lists for him and I feel bad for making him work so hard on his "time off".. LOL..
Last time he was home he made me 2 breeding pens for ducks.. Like those ones some of the call breeders have.. above ground.. with a tub.. only took him a couple days, but he was a busy guy.... I will post pics later of those.. they are perfect for young ducks...

No, it is a problem with many of the small incubators and the ones without air circulation are the worst. the eggs are so thick that the tops are too hot if the bottom is right on temp. If you reduce temp so the top is right the bottoms are too cold. I have read of people only loading about half of the number that will 'fit' in order to get better air and temp. circulation. Some claim that it helps, others say NO.Ffew incubators can match a good goose for hatcing.
