Ladies and Gentlefolk, we have Lockdown.

It really doesn't look like there are many eggs in there at all...

Okay, so I candled the lot, and placed to the side a further 5 which don't look like they're going to make it. None of them smell rotten, so I left them in there, just in case. The only egg I'm positive didn't make it (far to much empty space) .... Is my Sebright egg...

Other than that, I have 13 Australorp, 2 Welsummer, 3 Silver Laced Wyandottes, 1 Light Sussex and 3 Home Grown Isa Brown Crosses left in the mix.

This leaves with a total of 22 possible chicks. Out of 38. It seems not so great until I factor in the 8 Sebright eggs, which didn't want to hold on for me.

Well, we'll see. Maybe a couple of the ones I wasn't sure about will hatch and surprise me. Either way, it does look like I'll be hatching some chickies in 3 days.

Dirty_South_Chickens; Let me know how your Lock-down goes. Are you going to candle yours too?

I have one bad egg that got a blood ring but stopped after that, so I marked it and put it back. I will candle it again and pull it out if it glows. I'll be locking down tonight!
