I have read that anything over 98* F and anything under 102* F you should be ok but I do my best keep it 99* to 100* F. I had bad luck with the high humidity...had gooey chicks when they hatched and low hatch rates.

Congrats, Colourful! Haha. It must be sooooooooooo tempting!Oh My Gosh!
I candled again *smacks hand, bad Colourful* I know I should open the incubator as little as possible...
But anyway! I Candled again, just a few eggs, and I have at least 1 fertile Golden Sebright! I'm absolutely ecstatic!!! Here's an Australorp egg I took a photo of. My Sebright wasn't showing properly through the camera.
Okay. My last candling picture until it's time for me to candle the lot, promise.
I can't wait to see all these chicks! And then see them again in 6 months when they're big and wondering free range too.
Lacey; that's a good idea, doing just a few at first. When did you put them in?
I got eager and candled my Light Sussex egg, just to see if I could see the dot yet.![]()
No dot or veins quite yet. I can see where the yolk is, and I was careful not to keep the egg out for long.
But here is a cool picture of the veins in my hand, lol.
The egg is slightly porous, is that right for Light Sussex eggs? Or an I worrying over nothing?
