First time incubating - potential problem

Curious why you didn't let the pair hatch and raise them?

Oh wow. Cool! Sounds like a lot of work, but it'll be cool to have an Owl friend when it grows up.
Yeah I'm gonna give him (and hopefully the next baby) the best life imaginable!

It was the parents' first time and didn't trust them to incubate them properly. Turns out that was a good decision. I gave them back all the infertile eggs and they would slip out from under her all the time, then if they weren't in her line of sight she wouldn't notice.

Also it's important to imprint owls on humans as early as possible if you want them to be a pet.

Baby number one is doing really well!
