We had a tornado hit Friday night and our power went out, the eggs had been in incubator for 5 days. The power didn’t come on until Sunday afternoon. The eggs dropped down to 65/70 and I couldn’t rotate them as much because the craziness and I was scared if I opened the lid it would let what heat was in out. Saturday I did find someOne with a generator that let me plug them in but they kept
Turning their generator on and off and they didn’t rotate them for me and I was gone doing my daughters birthday party. Do you think they will survive or should I start over with new eggs?

I've had power outages cause severe bent toes... to the point I would cull. But it might depend on the development day, I was around day 11. and only got down to 78 degrees I think (it's been a while).

They might survive... maybe with deformities.

For future reference... we try to heat water bottle on the side burner of the BBQ and tuck around.

Hard call... I would start over. BUT life does seem to find a way pretty often. Best wishes whatever you do. :fl

Glad you are safe! :wee

Thanks so much!!!

I'm sorry about this, especially since it's your first time hatching!

Like @EggSighted4Life said, it can result in deformities. Sometimes mild ones, sometimes severe.

I personally would keep the eggs to see what happens, but it could be upsetting to have a batch of deformed chicks and not know what to do.
