First time incubating

Did some candling tonight and saw some moving things in there. OMG! So exciting!

No idea o.0 the only quail couple I've had prior to these incubated ones went broody. But that was back in Australia, I don't know if that makes a difference. I have an adult female that's very interested in the chicks and calls to them a lot. I'm hoping she might go broody when one of them is old enough to court her

I read that it's rare for both, but button are more likely to go broody then a cort.

I wonder if it makes a difference, but my broody back in australia was a button that i purchased at a petshop. she lived inside her whole life. I was experimenting with making her cage as close to her natural habitat as possible. Lots of tree branch cover and natural flooring, dried leaves, dirt etc. She laid and incubated in an overturned flower pot lol

I only had her for a short time before moving to Canada. But she managed to hatch a clutch of six and raised them just fine. I did have to separate out the male though, he ate the seventh baby as it was hatching

Oh no! But good to here she went broody through it all. That's what I'm hoping for.
