first time incubating

You will quickly see a bit of "haze" on the membrane when you put it back in, but you should be able to tell when it starts drying the whole membrane layer. A bit of a haze is ok, as long as it doesn't start to look leathery and tough. Hard to explain. Do the blood vessels look any smaller now than they did when you first broke into the shell? And I assume you still had activity when you re-moistened it? Talk to it, sing to it, if you haven't been doing so. Encourage it to be active.

It definitely looks like the blood vessels are receding and the membrane is against his body so not too much liquid in there. I can see some in the spaces between his body and the shell though

I see activity every time I moisten the membrane or add water into the incubator. And every time I whistle so I know his ears are definitely working. Lol

Actually, I think it is all sounding positive. I think its just a waiting game now to see when he will bust through that membrane. Just don't let him get too dry, and try to keep him "listening" lol and he might just make an appearance!

I put some music on for him. Turned off the fan and one light then sealed the incubator a bit better to keep in the heat and humidity. Hopefully that might help keep him from drying out. I've decided to take my other babies outside and distract myself so im it tempted to keep bothering him. I'm going to keep checking every 15 mins or so to make sure the temp stays the same.

Awwww so sweet!!

My kid came home and luckily hasn't looked in the incubator yet to notice the big hole in his egg. Things are looking good though. Egg is shaking so much every time I go near it and I noticed him pressing into the membrane so much it bulges almost right to the top of the egg. I think he's just gonna burst out of there soon. I still see some blood vessels though so maybe by morning. The night time worries me though cause I won't be constantly checking on him:/
