First time layer?

Hi everyone. I need some advice. I have 4 chickens which I've had a week. From what I can tell 2 are currently laying and 2 are not. I just went outside to check my chickens and noticed 2 small squishy eggs in the coop. The first one was very small and squishy but the second one was a bit bigger and harder but still a bit squishy. We've already had 2 eggs from our other chickens today so I'm guessing (hoping) we have a new layer or layers. Would it be possible that this was from one chicken? Or have 2 of them laid for the first time together? I'm a bit confused. Thanks for any advice! Kate

Yes its possible that it came from 1 layer, when they are new to laying it could be also from 2 diffferent chickens. Make sure they are on layer feeds and have oyster shell on the side.
