First time mum to 2 Newborn chiks

What I do is hold each chick and quickly dip beaks in the water and stand the chick up in front of the water. Sort of skim the surface of the water with the birds beak and usually they naturally open their beaks and get water. And this way they know where the water is. Same with food. Lay out a paper towel with CRUSHED crumbles on it and tap with your finger until they understand were the food is. Crush the food if it isn't already, for several days, using a paper towel. Eventually they will learn where food and water is. Chicks rely on mom to show them what to do.
I will definitely give that a go

One of my chicks all of a suddenly started panter his feet seems as though can't lift his head or body weight to actually walk around anymore though they are both just born today no mama chick here for them either just me pls help
What temperature is your brooder at? To me if he’s panting and immobile he sounds like he’s overheating.

obviously a thermometer is the best. you can also adjust it for the time being based on how your chicks are acting. panting / wings spread is obviously too hot. standing as far as possible from the heat source is too hot. cuddled up together directly under the heat source is too cold. it's easier to tell with more than 2 chicks, but everyone should be able to wander about and not just stay at either extreme of right next to or all the way away from the heat source. this is not a substitute for having a thermometer but if you cant go to the store right now for some reason, it's better to use these methods to try to help than do nothing.
