First time with angel wing

Wait, I finally got it to load and that was extremely helpful! I didn't realize you could just sling the wing up like that. I may try that next if the socks keep slipping. Thank you so much for that!

That actually sounds like what I was doing lol. Every time she tries to hop out of it, it would just pull it down where I needed it if I held on. Maybe the sock was just too wide for my Cayuga then? The Saxony is so much bigger and the sock seems to work better for her, but the Cayuga manages to slide it up and over. And every time I try to wrap her in something she attempts to run and catches her feet in it before I get it on her. Such a pain.

Yep if she’s wiggling it up. I’d say it’s a little too big. I’ll try to show you tomorrow how to hold her so she will not fight near as much.

So the wraps stayed in place good over night. I'm noticing a difference in their wings already. My Cayuga is having an easier time, it just tends to droop, but when she flaps or re-adjusts her wings, it goes back. The Saxony seems better, not as twisted, but still bent. I'd like to ge a picture, but she's always in front or back of the group with her back away from me. I need someone to hold her while I take the photo.

I decided to swap them out for a bit with the adults for their first outdoor time and swim in the pool. I figure the exercise might do some good for the wings. I'll wrap again tonight and see what happens.

How I wrapped mine...
Also a picture of his wing before wrapping..

Well, the sock lasted through Friday night, but she got it off on Saturday while I was at work. It just doesn't last long enough and she keeps trying to pull her wings up and they get trapped in a funny position. Last night I was too exhausted to do anything, but today I'm trying to sling it up instead. I think it's much more comfortable for them, so I'm going to try hard to get this to work. I'm really hoping I did it right. I used the methods on that video, but I went with a piece of vet wrap instead because it seemed more stable.

My poor Saxony is being an absolute gem through the whole process. She was so skittish going into this and now she's grown so used to it that she'll just stand calmly and let me wrap it without complaint. My Cayuga on the other hand, I have to pin to the ground and as soon as I finish she goes to town trying to pick at the tape. She got the first one off, so I tried again, but this time tighter and with much more tape. I watched her try for a minute and it didn't seem to go anywhere, so I'll check back with them after church.

Any input on this wrap job would be wonderful. I want to make sure I'm doing it correctly. I swear I have it wrapped under and over her elbow to keep the carpals tucked in, but it doesn't look the same as the wraps I've seen. It's like the angles are different, or not as much is covered.
