I've been searching and haven't found much info of handling shipped eggs when they arrive. Is there a sticky somewhere's that gives some help?

I heard your supposed to let them sit for 12-24hrs before putting them in the incubator and that you should have the pointy side up. Is this correct?

This is my first time with shipped eggs so want to do the best I can. Got the hovabator up and running and ready!

Thankyou!

Pointy end should be DOWN. The air sac is supposed to be in the bigger part of the egg, and the reason for letting them sit for so long is to re-attach any air sacs that have gotten loose during shipment.
I would sit them for 8-12 hours in a room that will stay at a constant temperature somewhere between 50-60 degrees.
Do you have an automatic egg turner in your incubator?

Nope it's the other way around. The big end goes up and the pointy end down.

I let mine rest for 8 hours at room temp and put them in the bator, then I didn't turn the turner on for the first two days. All of my air cells ended up perfectly formed and attached, and all the eggs were doing great at last candling. They go into lockdown on Friday night.

Wow! Your fast! Thanks!

I fixed them, and I should have known, I guess I was just nervous. I've hatched my own and I always have them big side up when I'm collecting them. Must be first time jitters LOL

No, I don't have a turner, but I'm home enough during the day to do hand turning.

Another question, is there a way to check if the air cells are intack? Would they just look like a regular egg?

When you candle you should be able to see the air cell clearly as a circle of light. If all is well, you'll see a distinctly formed circle that doesn't move away from the fat end of the egg even while you slowly rotate the egg. That means it's attached.
