First Timer: In Need of Showing/Breeding Tips

Sorry, meant to say shafting. Shafting may not be an issue in Black Copper Marans. I looked at my male, and he is the same in that regard. I also have partridge birds in other breeds, and shafting is not desired in them.

I assume you mean the black In his hackles?

The definition is on page 11. It mentions it is a defect in some breeds, and directs you to page 32. It shows an example in figure 48 on page 23. It Doesn't mention anything about shafting in Black Copper Marans, so it must be allowed.

I notice in another poou said there are no shows in your area. Which state are you In? Have you looked on poultry show central?
Missouri (Rolla area). Yes, thats basically what I go off of unless I know of a show that isnt listed.

@gojira -
I didn't think it mattered what standard you used... Although, I was reading and the American standard is very respectful of the French standard. I can take better pictures tomorrow, it's getting dark already. I love in Missouri and I can't recall the lines I have. The pullet and cockerel are from different lines.

@I Love Layers -
She is still young- although according to @Chooks man she is faultless :)
