First-timer: Just bought 12 Coturnix quail eggs... help? :)

Just a simple 11-watt lightbulb. Temps have been stable at 100 all day.

I don't have the answer on this but I am doing the reverse. I started with chickens last spring, last fall tried coturnix, had better success with coturnix hatching in the spring, and now I just hatched CPQ. They are adorable!

BTW - Still have chickens and Coturnix.

Unfortunately when I woke up this morning, it was 98. I am cleaning out my 'bator right now and transferring them all in there, at least until I can get a slightly stronger lightbulb for the stryofoam 'bator. Hope they will be ok!

98 isn't out of range. Incubation can happen between 98-102..103, give or take a few degrease on the low side. Low temps will cause the embryo to diapause: adding to the the total hatch time, but is not certain death. 104+ is usually fatal.
I think your eggs are ok!

Thanks!

I went ahead and grabbed a thermostat anyhow - I know I will use it more than once, so might as well. I am going to get it set up tonight... and then incubate more birds.
