First Timer Looking For Hatch Buddy!

I'm staggering eggs through about 2/3 of Sept. Can I join? They're all mystery roo eggs and either delaware or sizzle hens. The outcomes are sure to be quite weird.

I have a blue and red sizzle (smooth) male. A splash sizzle male and a silkied serama roo, and a blue Sizzle hen, a black Sizzle hen and delawares.

The eventually chicks may be very very odd. Who cares, it's a summer mixed hatch... grin.

walkswithdogs - it will be a summer silkie serama sizzling sensation! SUPER!!

Welcome Aboard busylizzie & walkswithdog !!

BusyLizzie, yes I was a tad confused until I re-ead your post a couple of times and laughed, it was too cute.

Walkswithdog, Sure you can join us, the more the merrier. We're gonna have fun seeing all the different colors/chicks. I can wait to see pictures.

LOL this is funny: walkswithdogs - it will be a summer silkie serama sizzling sensation! SUPER!!

These next 3 weeks are gonna be nerve racking. Ive been reading everything I can here on BYC on hatching. I have to get a digital thermo/humidity thingy this week as I dont know the humidity is now. Anyone have a suggestion for one they've used that works well?

And me....

I set my first hatch too!! Due 17th and 18th Sept

I have 24 eggs from my girls - EE'rs and barred rocks, with a barred rock roo

And set 11 eggs yesterday from local seller, pretty sure they're fertile, so might be a cool surprise if they hatch. 2 are brown, 3 are white, 3 are smaller and cream and 3 are light green. So pretty really hope some hatch

So far bator is stabilized and remembering to turn them in between lamb and children feeding times!

Welcome Aboard Kiwi Chicky !!

We are going to have some fun with all the "surprise" eggs that will be hatching all about the same time, or within a fews days of each other.

I think Id better go and get another bator...as this is very addicting!

I didn't have a hygrometer for my first miserably failed hatch, so I went to Pet Supplie Plus and found a digital thermo/hygrometer combo that worked GREAT. It was around $15.

Six Ameraucana chicks finally hatched, one with the help of my husband today. It's a bit weak, but a fighter for sure.

I just filled my 2 incubators on the 25th & 26th.

1 has cochin/serama mixes, Muscovy, and a lot of Layer mixes(green & brown eggs). I checked them today and the bantam & duck eggs are already veining! the LF eggs are hard to see into though.

#2 had blue turken eggs in it, they look weird right now so im not sure if they're good or bad.

ETA: due around the 16th & 22nd.

LOl the silkied serama/sizzles are already officially (OMG LOL) Seramadizzles. Chuckle.

I'm thinking if I end up sizzling a delaware, I've got a WERESizzle... big tough mean Sizzle.... grrrrr...

Sizzles are a new breed in progress. Yes, essentially a Silkie type bird but with the soft curly normal feathering. They're very cute. Quite a number of people beginning to work on them. There's a yahoo group that has been established. I have both a line that will be show birds - blue, black and splash. And a pet group - not yet approved or established color, that will be birchen in blue birchen and black birchen, possibly splash birchen as well.

This is my fourth generation pair and the blue red, though he's gotten far more spectacular since this photo.

Here's Sheridan the blue red, he is smooth feathered and his glaring flaw is that darn comb/face. (okay I am told he may be black / red and lacking melanizers but that's complicated.
