CONGRATS GLORIA!!!! Woooo Woooo

They are adorable. I think next spring I'll hatch some ducks. I have a pond that hasnt had any birds in it for 25 yrs with the exception of a pair that come in the spring, lay...then a fox eats the eggs and off they go.

Lock down for me at 4pm today Gonna bump up the humidity with a couple sponges. Good luck to everyone we should all be hatching soon.

lock down is tomorrow!!! im very lucky and have 7 that are doing very very good after a 105 spike in the bator. the night before i had 30 viable and the next morning it had gone up to 105. i left all of 30 eggs in the bator just in case tho... praying that the 7 that i am 100% sure are doing well hatch!

Im locked down as of 6pm tonight. I "think" I have 20 Isa's and 2 Std Blue cochins to hatch thursday. Im having a hard time as my eggs are just about completely dark with a very small air sack.

I was candling today and POP then the STINK oh my gosh was it horrible. I had to laugh as I was warned the other day about it happening. So off to the house I go with bator bottom in hand to wash it all out. I did it in record time too. Didnt know my legs could run that fast at my age LOL

I candled my eggs I bought and it doesnt look to promising. The air sacks are all over the place. But today is only day 10 so we'll see in a few more days. But the Guinea eggs out of 14 looks like I will have 9 to hatch on the 25th

Gloria - I'm in love, they're soooo cute!

I hada few issues with temp yesterday after uping the humidity, but seems to be stable now.

I candled one of the eggs from the batch due next week to check they're still ok, it was still swimming around

No noise or movement from the 5 due soon.
Still early, betcha 1 will pip whilst I'm at the playcentre meeting tonight

Cheeping and Rocking Here!!!

Come on babies, you can do it. When I got home at 3:30 this morning, a bunch of my eggs were wiggling around. One of the brown ones looked like it was doing chickrobics in there, it was moving so much. Didn't and still don't see any pips, but before I went to bed at 5, I swore I kept hearing a quiet little cheeping noise. Mom thought I was crazy, but I wasn't! Because when I got up at 11:30, there is one cheeping like crazy in there. It's louder now, even mom would be able to hear it. Little bugger will probably wait until I go to work tonight before she decides to show herself. I'm so nervous! There are so many "what if's" running thru my brain.

I'm not built to handle stress, why did I get myself into this??? Oh yeah, cuz they're so darn cute

Kiwi, what happened while you were gone, did your chickies do anything? (waits impatiently)

But fed the baby at 3am and I heard cheeping!

woke up to a pip! Playcentre this morning, so hopefully a chickie when we get home

day 19 here and GAHHHH i have the bator in the back room . its there so im not 'AS' tempted to go look as often 'scoff' ive only been in there 18 times today opppps hold on....... make that 19 lol im praying that the 7 that survived the temp spike hatch.. they are due friday... *sigh* gahhhhh gotta go look at the bator... AGAIN!

Your babies are soooo cute!!!

Yesterday was day 18 and I checked the bator and the humidity was 28! ACK!!!!!!!! I bumped it up to 64, but I'm hoping it didn't kill them - I'm not sure how long it was like that. I'm on lockdown today and got a high humidity going, hopefully steady.

I've got them in a very shallow egg carton...I've heard good things about this, so hopefully......

Oh dear lord, you're making me want ducks... and I already wanted ducks, but Laura says I can't have one til I make a pond.... sigh. I rescued one duck from TSC when he'd been hurt by the others and had been stuck in a little box with no heat all alone.

I told them I'd care for him so they gave him to me. OMG the cute. He was some kind of crested and the booboo was on his head at his crest - most of it torn. I had no idea about the mess and the cute and the silly appealing way they run at you like a little fuzzy avalanche and then beak all over you hands at their happiness to see you. Or how one would love to cuddle and the mess. Oh the mess. Did I mention the mess? I totally ended up not caring because Duckbutt was just too endearing. I miss him but I sent him to another BYCers home who already had ducks. He's happy.

Seeing those baby ducks is all but killing me with cute and want-it's.
