First treats ever!!!

I had thought about it all day at work...I need to give my birds some special snacks when I got home. Well, I have 2 coops with separate flocks (30 and 4, respectively) and gave the big house birds about a cup of scratch and one of BOSS along with a tray of varied size grit. The 4 (EE's, btw) got some cantaloupe seeds/pulp and a small tray of the grit. They hadn't had either before as they are 7-8 weeks old now. It was about 30 minutes from sundown and I read that you should only let them eat for 15 minutes or so.

Hope I didn't give them too much too late in the day...

They had looked so bored on the roosts last night so I wanted to get them something for entertainment since I have no satellite hook up out there!

I'm sure that made their day! try giving them some watermelon and corn on the cob this summer! They'll LOVE you!

Sounds like a yummy treat for them! I just gave my girls and boys some grapes (cut up) with some kale and grit sprinkled on top today and they LOVED it!!!! I don't think watching them play "keep away" ever gets old
