First try at incubating

Candled the EEs and GFs last night and have movement in every one! Also checked the polish and showgirl eggs and I can see veining in most and even what I assume is a heartbeat in one. So far its going great. I'll get some pics tonight.

I also took them out of the cartons and just have them lying on the shelf I built. Turning them is a lot easier for me that way.

The only time I pick them up is to candle them. I just roll them around a few times a day. I did break one around day 3 by dropping my therm on one:(.

Its very difficult to get good pics but I took a few anyway.

Your incubator looks pretty awesome.

Are you using a CLF to power your incubator? For some reason I didn't think that would work very well.

Also, where did you find a cooler at this time of year. Every store I've been to say that it is a seasonal item, and that they aren't going to stock them yet. I suppose this could just be a regional problem.

Kim-Thank you! Yes, I'm using a cfl. I was using an incandescent but imo it was giving off way too much heat. I replaced it with a 45w cfl and added a couple of 16 oz bottles of water to the bottom to help keep temps a lil more stable. Took a while to warm up initially but works great!

I bought the cooler at the dollar store for $2.50. Its spring here.

Bryan-Thanks for the vids. They were very helpful.

Day 17! Amazing how fast the days went by. Had to build a small hatcher because I set eggs on different days. Ill post pics if I get some pips...or nothing at all lol.

And now you're chewing on your fingernails in nervous anticipation...would love to see pictures of the fluffy cuteness.
