I don't think it was that bad of a result from shipped eggs.

I'm going to keep the eggs in lockdown for a day or two more and then I'll have to clean the incubator and set the eggs I got yesterday, 6 mixed D'Anvers (Black, Blue, Blue Quail, Quail) and 18 Sablepoots (6 Lemon Millefleur, 12 Lavender) I guess I must be a glutton for punishment

Ok, figured out that today is still only day 21!! Which goes to show that bantams can hatch early!

I kind of forgot about the humidity in the incubator since the (9) 8 living chicks hatched out and increased it again.

We shall see if we get any more in the next couple of days. I just love hatch day.

I've got a shaker that has successfully rolled from the very center of the bator to the bottom corner. Not sure if all that rolling around will hurt this little one, but I don't know if I should open the lid to put it in something to keep it from moving around....

I have one that just hatched, and about 8 pipped. And some that are rolling around. its busy in there and the one chick that's out is climbing all over. I am wondering also if its going to affect the other eggs. There are 27 eggs in there plus the chick.

I'm not going to sleep tonight!!

Well I'm pretty disappointed with only 3 out of 21 Barnevelders to hatch, especially since I went and picked them up personally

but it's better than none. Today is day 21 for the Ameraucana's and it looks like none are going to hatch. At the first candling it looked like all the eggs but one had bad air cells so my hopes were not too high for them. I'll wait a few more days just in case.

I'm glad at least a few hatched for you.

I was very lucky that my first time of incubating went very well for me. Today is day 21 for me and out of 28, 23 have hatched and 2 are pipped. I'm not sure on the remainder 3 but I think 2 may have died inside.

Thats an awesome hatch, good for you! My first hatch went very well too but this one stinks big time. Too bad there were some quite expensive eggs this time.
