First yogurt... ew, my beak!

I just thought I'd share. We gave the 9-day-olds yogurt for the first time last night. I put it on a shiny spoon to help attract their attention. The brave ones who pecked at it each reacted with total disgust, and immediately started wiping their beaks on the ground. It was adorable! Some of them wiped their beaks in the dish of grit, and came up with red moustaches.

Eventually Camilla figured it out and ate most of it herself. Then the other chicks caught on and started wanting to eat it... but apparently treats are tastier if STOLEN, so they were all trying to peck smudges of yogurt off of each other's faces.

We don't have an especially dumb batch, do we?

I think I wrote this very same posting 6 months ago when my girls were still babies. All perfectly normal.
