Fish issue, AGAIN- but not mine

She can put the 7 Koi in a 75 gal fish tank with 2, 60 gpm filters .
A gravel cleaner is a necessity to keep the bottom free of sedimant (fish poop).
It wont take long for those 7 fish to out grow the tank so a back up plan will be needed very soon.

I always start Koi in a tank then move them out to the Pond mid spring.

HEY. I had like 3 koi in a 10 gal and they did fine. They lived to be 6 and I still have one! They just never grew cuz of the limited space. By the way no they arent very big at all.

Supposedly the outer body stops growing, but internal organs continue to grow until eventually the fish get internally crushed to death.

The typical koi lifespan is 25-35 years, with some reports of koi living to be over 200.

I have never heard of this before?
I have been raising fish for a long time and stunting them is just that stunting, everything stops growing.
I am not sure where all these ideas come from.

Fish do continue to grow when the environment they are in is smaller than what they are genetically programmed to become and do so in a means to fit in this environment by what seems to be the forced manipulation of bone growth.

Keeping goldfish and koi in tiny tanks and bowls is like keeping a great dane puppy in a 24 inch crate its whole life. Or a child in a closet. Its animal cruelty.

I have to admit when I was younger, it made sense the saying "they won't grow larger than their environment allows". I simply thought it was some really cool feature to fish. Now I wonder why it is so widely accepted to stunt fish when stunting anything else is considered cruel. I think fish are just often overlooked, since they are just fish.

I've had horses that I bought that were being starved to death in their youth. Their growth was stunted by space or malnutrition or starvation. So technically they were stunted by cruelty, correct?

I admit as a child I kept as many fish to a tank as I could keep alive. My parents didn't moniter me and really didn't care about fish. They were simply decorations that swam.

So, the issues I have brought up are simply observations and not accusations. Food for thought.

Right Now, she has them in a 6 gal tank! My pool was full of holes and in terrible shape(its in the attic).
I let her use my 6 gal for temporary until her parents buy her a bigger tank for her bday in 2 months. At least her new 6 gal is a hex shape with a filter gravel etc. Got it for free on CL and let her have it. Its better than a 2 gal bowl with no filter.
I feel BAD for em. I'd take them, but I cant have any more fish for right now.
I lost one of my 3 feeders. 3 fish are left in my tank
