I just recently had a small egg layed with no yolk and have pullets and hens together big age difference and I was wondering if this could be a sign of a first egg of one of my pullets

Yea, sounds like it. Was it in the nesting box? When my four pullets first started laying, their first eggs were always in the middle of the run or under the perch... as though it'd just slipped out without them realizing. They were quite small too, but mine all had yolks.

There are some problems that the hen still sorts out with her "internal laying factory" when she starts to lay... but she should have them all sorted out soon! Good luck :)

It was in a crate on the ground that I filled with straw and my pullets have been playing on them a lot recently

I have the crate on the ground because I kept getting eggs on the ground and was trying to see if the chickens would be more comfortable laying closer to the ground
