Well if it is a boy I really hope it doesn't start crowing. I live in the city and can't have a roo. IT is so tiny... that could be really interesting if it is a boy and he tries anything with the standard hens that I have. It was sitting in the nesting box today on top of the golf balls and she would take her beak and roll the balls back under her body when she moved a little bit. Would a rooster do that?

agreed it looks like 2 ee, 1 cochin, 1 brahma and a rooster porcelain d'uccle

U can see some saddle feathers in the back in this pic which makes me think roo
My polish roo sits inside the nesting boxes sometimes but then jumps off after a while

If the legs are slate, it could be a poor quality splash ameraucana. I had 3 splash polish that had coloring like that.... Pet quality is all - not a bad thing unless you want to show or breed

I have yet to see an EE that looks like that, but anything is possible

I do agree though, that you can see some saddle feathers on the back of that guy

How old is he? If his crow is anything like my serama roo, nobody should even know you have a roo!

Here is another picture of my d-uccle's back. I wasn't sure which feathers are saddle feathers and had to google it, still not sure I know exactly which ones your talking about, but hoping this picture gives you a better look. Thanks!

I posted another picture of the back of my d'uccle, hopefully that will help but it is sounding like I have a roo. <he> is 1 year old, came from a neighborhood home and I"m certain they didn't pass a roo onto me knowingly because they asked if I could keep them updated and send pictures once in a while. <he> hasn't crowed yet that I've heard, we brought him home on Sunday, so if <he> stays quiet and doesn't bother my girls than I guess we could probably get away with keeping <him>!

I was able to wash her face off with a soft cloth, she's still a tiny bit dirty but looks much better now.

Check her over for mites, also. Look around the vent first.

Didn't see any mites, checked around her vent, under her legs, belly and back. She is my most docile so it was easy to check. Thanks for the tip!
