Flake or fine?

Anybody else heard this question? Which is better: flake pine shavings or fine pine shavings? I went with flake just off the top of my mind, but it fine better? What do you think?

The fine ones are dustier and chicks are possibly more prone to eating them when they are very young, so I would stick with medium or large flake.
