Flashing red light to deter predators?

I saw a device, solar powered, that flashed a red light. It claims to deter raccoons, coyotes, etc. Has anyone tried this? Does it work?

I have several flashing red/white lightd; some with a siren. They do not deter racoons at all.

Hello, ! Just to let you know this is an old thread from 2011…but I have heard that raccoons get used to things pretty quickly so I can see why the siren wouldn’t work. It would probably be of more nuisance to me than the raccoon!
