ah such confusion... i followed a link from this site to another with all the poisonous plants and all 3 were listed!! this is after i have been treating my girls with cabbage on a string, and started a nice flax and kale patch which the girls have been decimating!! they especially like the flax seedlings. i have planted in those 1x1 flat trays that are easy to transport in and out of the run so things can grow again... alot of my plants here in hawaii were on that poison list on other site!! darn! will they be ok when i let them free range in my yard which for example has alot of taro which was on the list... i mean we have wild jungle fowl everywhere i dont see alot of poisoned chickens laying around??

Im not a chicken expert, but I know a few things. Here's one:

Chickens can eat brassicas of any kinds without harm. This includes all the ones mentioned and collards, broccolli etc.

There is one minor caveat, however - the stronger brassicas may taint the egg flavor. Not as bad as onions or garlic, but you may notice it.

Kale was once recommended as a "green feed" for chickens, so go ahead and give them some.
